Heraldry in the Barony

Heraldic Devices and Submittals:

The SCA provides the opportunity to register a heraldic device, that identifies the person bearing the device, a name for your persona, and a badge to identify your belongings. Although devices and badges are not required to participate in the SCA, personal registered heraldry contributes to the medieval nature of our events.

Information on the submittal process can be found at: http://www.northshield.org/Posts/HeraldrySubmissions.aspx.

The Submittal Process:

Each month heraldic submissions are sent to the Compass Herald who compiles a Northshield Kingdom Letter of Intent, provided on the Northshield College of Heralds internal Commentary System, published on the internet. This is accessible through the Kingdom of Northshield website. The commenters have one month to make comments about the previous month's submissions. These comments are used to determine whether each of the submissions should be sent on the Laurel Sovereign of Arms for further commentary or returned to the submitter for rework.

Submissions can be viewed at http://web.northshield.org:8081

Heraldic Commenting/Consultation

Heraldic commenting and consultation provides the submitter with help in designing a heraldic submission of meaning and interest to them. At this time heraldic consultation is on an as requested basis. If you wish to have help to submit a name, device, or badge, or want to start gathering ideas, or want suggestions for heraldic display, please seek me out at Fight Practice, call me at (414) 282-9757, or email me.
