1st Annual 3 Stars Arts & Sciences Tourney

Format for this A&S tourney is:

-Must submit 3 items/pieces, two that you do well or are known for, and one of something that you have never done before/have any real knowledge of prior to doing this competition.

-Basic documentation for all 3 items, 6 pages maximum. Please answer the questions "what, when, who, why, where, and how". Including pictures in your documentation is encouraged. The idea is not a dissertation, but enough information on all 3 items that the judges can make informed decisions about what you have entered.

-Two of the three entries must incorporate, somehow, 3 stars and/or a tower. Be as obvious or as clever as you wish!

Why am I calling it the 3 Stars Tourney? Yes, we have 3 stars in the Baronial heraldry, but for me, those stars also represent our Baroness, the Princess, and the Queen. Three fine Ladies who inspire all to do our best and shine for the populace. I thought it was a fitting way to honor all the ladies who have, do currently and will someday hold those titles. I look forward to everyone's participation in this tourney and helping show off the amazing talents of our Barony.

Planned youth activities .

1- Medusa Tag--freeze like stone--That is more for the younger children
2- Parthenon Games Races-- we will have individual and team races that will utilize the obstacle course. This will be geared towards the older children.

(Post-Event Comments)
I hope everyone had a great time yesterday. I have a number thank yous and congratulations to say:

Thank you weather gods for the good weather. I was really worried that we'd have rain yesterday.
Thank you Her Ladyship Gabrielle and Lord Armond for encouraging us to try the Rock River Park. It really has a lot of potential as a small event site. And I love that the archery range was just a short walk form the clubhouse.
A big thank you Lady Juliana and Lady Asobella, and their crew for organizing the feast. The stew and kabobs were great. And thank you to everyone who brought something to share.
My thanks to Sir Gunther, Don Charissmos, and Lord William for serving as the marshals in charge for the armored combat, rapier, and archery tourneys.
Thank you Lady Deonysia for organizing the 3 stars A&S Tourney. I do hope that it does grow to be an annual part of the Baronial Championship
Thank you Lady Nikea for organizing the children's activities and the dessert challenge.
Thank to Baroness Alice and Lady Eva for being there to help with any registration questions and keeping an eye on the donation box.
Thank you to THL Fey and Lord Ellis for sharing stories of the early days of Caer Anterth.
Thank you to Their Majesties, for coming and helping us celebrate 30 years as a Barony.
Lastly, thank you Lord Abelard, for all your help, on top of your duties as Royal Chamberlain.

In addition to a lot of people helping out to make this a fun event, we also had some people who won some tournaments and others who received recognition during Michaelmas court.

Their Excellencies' champions for the next year are:
Armored Combat Champion: Count Valerius Paencalvus
Overall AC Tournament Winner: Duke Riato
Archery Champion: THL Arnbjorn Karlsson

The 3 Stars Arts & Sciences Champion: Lady Eva of Greenfield

The winner of adult's choice for the dessert challenge: Countess Gwyneth Felton.
I did not catch the name of the gentleman who won the children's choice. If someone could let me know, it will be greatly appreciated.

During Their Michaelmas Court, Their Excellencies presented the following awards:
Geffroi la Tailleeur was formally presented with his Award of Arms (the flogging waited until feast)
Isabella Falcao da Galinha was presented with the Order of the Whistling Swan
Marie la Fauconniere was presented with the Award of the Millstone
Albrecht of Caer Anterth Mawr was presented with the Order of the Flaming Heart
Tiggodric Sidden Volsungar was presented with the Award of the Zenith's Guardian
Gwyneth Felton was presented with the Award of the Zenith's Guardian
Deonysia of Rye was inducted into the Order of the Twr Mawr

The Baronies of Jararvellir and Windhaven made gift presentations to Their Excellencies and Lady Katlin McArthur was installed as Baronial Seneschal.

We had 80 adults fill out the self registration forms and 13 kids. I would guess, assuming that there were a few people who didn't check in, that we had 100-110 people at CAM 30.
There were a few items left at the event. I'll post a separate Lost & Found email.

Again, thank you to everyone who came, who helped out in any way, and, most of all, had fun.

In Service,
Arnbjorn
CAM 30 Event Steward

The Honorable Lord Arnbjorn Karlsson, OT
